06.06.2003 - In August 2001, MAN Turbo was commissioned to supply two centrifugal compressors for exporting gas on a platform in the North Sea off the coast of Britain. A casing for a centrifugal compressor, two panels for the dry gas seals and enhanced-performance gear units were also delivered together with the new machines.
Following successful performance and mechanical tests, the compressors were commissioned in 2002.

To distribute and export natural gas to different consumers, compressors are used, which are designed primarily to cover peak demand. The operating conditions associated with this favour compressors with a high level of flexibility, to cover large volume ranges and large pressure ranges alike.

The life of the export installation can be prolonged considerably by the additional compressor casing.
