19.05.2003 - In September 1999, MAN Turbo secured an order to supply three fuel gas compressor plants for a new combined cycle power plant in Dayville, Connecticut, USA. The order was placed by a Swiss firm. MAN Turbo has already built and commissioned fuel gas compressors for the company for projects all over the world. The operator of the turnkey power plant is an american energy generating company.
Owing to the satisfactory experience gained in construction of the Lake Road plant, the customer placed a follow-up order in April 2000 for four further installations for use in the La Paloma power station. The newly erected combined cycle plant is in McKittrick, California. Four trains, each comprising a gas turbine and a steam turbine, achieve a total output of 1,121 MW. La Paloma generates power for households and industrial companies in the region. The gas turbines are supplied with environmentally friendly natural gas, which the fuel gas compressors from MAN Turbo compress to the required pressure.
