MAN Diesel & Turbo has expertise in turbochargers dating back to 1934, when its first turbocharger for a diesel engine was developed. Today the company designs and manufactures modern high efficiency exhaust gas turbochargers with either radial (< 6,500 kW) or axial (> 1650 kW) turbines. The output spectrum of the turbochargers both for two and four-stroke engines ranges from 390 kW to 30,000 kW per turbocharger.
With its Power Turbine series we provide the solution for better fuel economy and higher power density for applications operated at - or close to full load whereas the Variable Turbine Area (VTA) is MAN Diesel & Turbo's solution for vessels operated at part load.
